Delete Your Account
Last updated: May 25, 2026
You can delete your PaoPao account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. Choose whichever method is easier for you — both work, both delete the same data.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)
The fastest path. Your account is removed immediately, with confirmation on screen.
- Open PaoPao on your phone and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation, then tap the settings icon in the top right.
- Scroll down to Privacy & Security and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion. Your account and associated data are removed immediately.
Option 2 — Delete by email
If you no longer have the app installed, or can't sign in for any reason, you can request deletion by email instead.
To prevent anyone else from requesting your account to be deleted, we require the request to come from the email address you registered with. We will not act on a request sent from any other address.
- Send an email to contact@paopao.sg from the email address registered on your PaoPao account.
- Use the subject line:
Delete My Account. - In the body, confirm that you are the account holder and you want your account and all associated data deleted.
We process every deletion request within 7 days of receipt. In practice it usually happens within 24 hours.
What gets deleted
- Your profile (name, username, email, phone, bio, avatar, country, city, birthday).
- All of your pet profiles, including pet photos and PawPass data.
- Your posts, comments, likes, and saved items on the Discover feed.
- Your events (events you created) and your event participation history.
- Your direct chat messages and your participation in group chats.
- Friend requests, friend connections, and blocked-user records associated with your account.
- Your push-notification token and notification preferences.
- Your stored location data (if you opted in to "Show in Nearby" or "Playdate Match").
What is retained, and why
A small set of records is kept in anonymised form for legal, compliance, or platform-integrity reasons. None of these contain your name, email, phone number, or any other directly identifying information after your account is deleted:
- Consent audit log — records of when you granted or revoked specific consents (e.g. push notifications). Kept for PDPA accountability obligations. Survives account deletion intentionally — it is the evidence that the consent existed at the time.
- Group chat messages you sent before deletion — your sent messages remain visible to other participants of conversations you were in, attributed to "Deleted User". The message content remains; your authorship link does not.
- Aggregated, non-identifying analytics — daily metrics (e.g. "number of accounts active on a given date") that contain no personal data.
- Encrypted backups — your data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which the rolling backup window evicts it. Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts.
This is permanent
Account deletion is irreversible. We cannot restore an account after it has been deleted. If you want to use PaoPao again later, you will need to create a new account.
