Welcome to PaoPao. By accessing or using the PaoPao mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Registration
To use PaoPao, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. User Content
"User Content" means any text, images, photos, pet profiles, event details, or other material you submit to the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting User Content, you grant PaoPao a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content.
- Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
- Your User Content does not contain harmful, abusive, defamatory, or illegal material.
PaoPao does not monitor, review, or endorse messages exchanged between users in group conversations. You are solely responsible for the content you send in group chats.
4. Pet Information
PaoPao allows you to create profiles for your pets. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide about your pets, including breed, health, and behavioral information. PaoPao does not verify pet-related information and is not liable for any decisions made based on such information.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users.
- Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content without authorization.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
- Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service without permission.
- Use the Service to promote the sale or trade of animals.
6. Events and Meetups
PaoPao provides tools to organize and discover pet-friendly events. PaoPao is a platform only and does not organize, host, or supervise events. You acknowledge that:
- Attendance at events organized through PaoPao is at your own risk.
- You are responsible for the behavior of your pets at any meetup or event.
- PaoPao is not liable for any injuries, damages, or disputes arising from events.
- When a social event ends, the associated group chat remains open for 7 days before becoming read-only. Event data and the group chat are automatically deleted 90 days after the event date. Cancelled events have their chat locked immediately.
- Photos shared in event group chats are visible to all group members. You are responsible for content you share, including photos of third parties.
- The event host or group admin can delete any photo shared in the group chat.
- The platform reserves the right to enforce per-event photo limits.
- You may repost your own chat photos to the public Discover feed. Reposting creates an independent copy — deleting the chat photo does not remove the Discover post.
7. Playdate Matching
PaoPao offers an optional Playdate Matching feature that suggests compatible pets and owners for playdates. By enabling this feature, you acknowledge that:
- Playdate Matching requires opt-in. You must enable "Show in Playdate" in Settings to appear in match results and to see other users' matches.
- Your approximate location is used to calculate distance to other users. You can configure your match radius (5 to 200 km) in Settings.
- Your public profile, pet profiles, and location data are visible to other opted-in users within your match radius.
- Match scores are calculated automatically based on pet compatibility (species, breed, age), proximity, and mutual connections. PaoPao does not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of any match.
- You are responsible for your interactions with matched users. PaoPao is not liable for any outcomes from playdates or meetups arranged through the matching feature.
- You may disable Playdate Matching at any time in Settings, which removes you from match results immediately.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, logos, trademarks, code, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Altbyte Pte. Ltd. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without prior written consent.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other users or the Service. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. PaoPao does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not endorse any User Content or events shared on the platform.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as map providers or app stores). PaoPao is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party sites or services.
PaoPao may automatically remove inactive data, including messages older than six months and past events older than ninety days, as part of routine platform maintenance. We do not guarantee the permanent retention of any User Content.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaoPao shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to PaoPao in the twelve months preceding the claim, or fifty Singapore dollars (SGD 50), whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PaoPao, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of Singapore.
15. Age Requirement & Child Safety
PaoPao is intended for users aged 16 and older. The app enforces an age verification check during account creation, and users under 16 are not permitted to create an account.
We are committed to the safety of minors and take a zero-tolerance approach to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We prohibit the use of our platform to share, distribute, or promote any content that exploits or endangers children. Any user found violating this policy will have their account immediately terminated and reported to the relevant authorities.
If you encounter any content or behavior on PaoPao that you believe exploits or endangers a child, please report it immediately to contact@paopao.sg. We will investigate all reports promptly and cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies.
